Sukhbir Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister, Punjab today announced that Zirakpur would be developed as next IT Hub of the country and a separate Electronic Industrial Cluster would also be created here.After inaugurating Sewerage Treatment Plant and 66 KV sub-station at Singhpura and Seikhpur Kalan in Dera Bassi worth Rs. 52 crore, Mr. Badal said that Mohali would be developed as one of the model district in the state, where IT and Electronics hubs would be set up. He said a total 600 acres land has been identified, where IT Hub would be established. He said that these initiatives of Punjab Government would fetch new investments in future besides securing employability for youth. Mr. Badal said that with the setting up of IT Hub at Zirakpur more than 1.5 lakh job opportunities would be there.
Addressing the gathering Mr. Badal said that Punjab has fixed a target of Rs. 10 lakh crore investments in coming years. He said that under this target, a delegation of state government led by him would visit different industrial capitals of country to educate and make aware the industrial giants about the attractive industrial policy launched by state government. He said that the delegation would leave for Bengaluru to organize a road show, where hundreds of industrial giants would participate.Criticising congress led UPA Government at center, Mr. Badal said that time has come to wipe out worlds’ most corrupt Congress led UPA Government, which was leading by a ‘weak’ Prime Minister. He said that UPA has badly failed on all fronts, which should be thrown out of power in the interests of country. He asked the electorates to elect Mr. Narendra Modi to save the country from corruption, scams etc. Earlier Mr. Badal also laid the foundation stone of construction of 1620 Purab Premium Apartments in SAS Nagar to be constructed at the cost of Rs. 725 crore besides inaugurating the Sports Stadium in Sector 63 and 78 of SAS Nagar with the total cost of Rs. 28 crore. Mr. Badal also inaugurated Rs. 42 crore, Hockey Stadium at SAS Nagar.Prominent amongst those were present included Mr. N.K. Sharma, Senior Akali leader Mr. Deepinder Singh Dhillon and other senior leadership of SAD-BJP.
