Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Mahesh Sharma has said that within next six months a new look will be given to the Ministries of Tourism and Culture. Inaugurating an exhibition of archaeological findings from Pattanam excavation of Kerala in National Museum here today the Minister said the development of tourism in the country is one of the top priority of this Government. Dr. Sharma said this kind of exhibitions help our children and youth to have an insight into our rich cultural heritage. 

The Culture and Tourism Minister said that the number of visitors to our archaeological sites and museums are not very encouraging. He said all departments should work together to attract people to this kind of exhibitions. The Minister said, “I wish that the youth of this country should go around our rich cultural heritage instead of foreign destinations. This kind of exhibitions will give encouragement to tourism and will spread the message of Indian cultural heritage to every corner of the world.” Congratulating the National Museum for organizing this exhibition the Minister expressed the hope that such exhibitions, will be taken to other cities also.
