The Punjab Government would spent Rs. 37 crore for the overall development of Rajpura town during this fiscal. A decision to this effect was taken by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who is also the Chairman of PEPSU Development Board (PDB), during board's meeting held here today at CMO. Taking part in the deliberations, Badal directed Administrator PDB to get the works of potable water supply, sewerage and sewage treatment plants executed on priority and ensure its timely completion. The Chief Minister also asked him to undertake the construction of the roads simultaneously to ensure better connectivity to the residents. Badal also approved to constitute a committee for the proper management of newly constructed Community centre-cum-Marriage Bhawan at Tripuri Town at a cost of Rs. 2.68 crore over land measuring 1.25 acre. Prominent amongst those who were present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister SK Sandhu, Special Principal Secretaries to Chief Minister Gaggandip Singh Brar and Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, Administrator PDB DD Tarnaich and Assistant Administrator PDB Gurmander Singh besides former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Raj Khurana.
