With the glare of magnificent beauty the paradise of the world Kashmir is also famous for its Agriculture; Agriculture which is considered as the most important Industry of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. As per Indian record 1992 the total area of the state is 24.15 hectares out of which 138,6867  square kilometers are rural and only 305.4 square kilometers are urban where most of the persons earn by cultivating of crops, fruits etc. But this year the ill climatic conditions damaged most of the crops in Kashmir and left many of the harvesters option less.“ This year we suffered a great loss because of the ill climatic changes and most of the times we found that at many places our crop was badly damaged,” a harvester Ghulam Mohammad told 5 Dariya News.

“It almost takes a year to mature the crops so that we can make earnings by harvesting them and in between we spend most of the time to spare it from bad condition, this year the story was a bit different  because it was raining for more Than a week which literally affected our harvest this year,” another harvester.“Many of us lost their lands because of the flood hit this year and we definitely hope that both of the state and central government will take some of the initiatives to help us as known agriculture is considered as the back bone of the state,” he added. When asked they said that definitely there is a need to boost the agriculture in Kashmir so there will be a huge addition in harvesting every year.
