Stating that September floods and incessant rains have jolted the people of our state beyond expression, the State Secretary CPI (M) M Y Tarigami has said that the mismanagement and faulty approach adopted by the administration in the distribution of relief post floods is equally providing nightmarish for the victims of this unprecedented catastrophic disaster. In a statement issued here to KNS the CPI(M) leader said that the disaster affected people are yet to recieve the meager relief amount admissible to them under SDRF norms. He said  that those who have lost thier dwellings, crops, horticulture produce and cattle have not been compensated and even the free ration has not reached to them notwithstanding the direction of the govt regarding release of free ration to entire flood, incessant rains affected."It is really unfortunate that the clamity hit victims are being deprived of monthly ration in utter disregard to the govt order and basic human food requirements.

The delay in ration distribution among the victims and acute shortage of LPG has given rise to public resentment and a big crisis is in the offing" Tarigami said and added that the administration has devised a complicated format comprising of eight columns to secure information with regard to crop damages from every farmer. The filling up of this format may take weeks togather thereby delaying the whole process."If we can not compensate our people given our resource constraints, let us at least not let them to deprivation and despondency in the wake of the worst calamitous event and post disaster management" the CPI(M) leader said while stressing upon the administration to stop being insensitive to the basic human needs of food and shelter.
