Heavy downpour in Kuchal area of district Kishtwar claimed one precious life today. One Zeba Begum (45) Wife of Abdul Gani resident of village Sheikh Pura Kuchal, tehsil Mugalmaidan, district Kishtwar was buried under the massive landslide caused by heavy rainfall in the area and died on spot, her body was retrieved with the help of local peoples.Senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori today expressed profound sorrow, grief and solidarity over the sad demises of Zeba begum. In a message of condolence, Saroori conveyed his heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to Almighty Allah for grant them strength to withstand the immense loss. He prayed to the Almighty Allah for blessing peace to the departed soul beside a place for her in a heaven.

With the death of Zeba Begum, the total death toll in current flood-flash, heavy rainfall has risen to four from Kishtwar district. Earlier Hajra Begum mother of Asif Khursheed Sirwal and his two daughters from Kishtwar who died in a flood affected area at Srinagar when the rescue boat in which they were on board capsized. Saroori has demanded an immediate release of ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakhs to the next kin of the victim under Prime Minister National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

In another incident at least 40 cattle-heads have been bitten by rabid dogs during the past some days in Kuchal area of Kishtwar district, creating panic in the remote villages. “The villages worst affected by the dogs are Kali Nag, Basha and Khar Nag,” Sarpanch Abdul Rashid Raina, Ghulam Nabi Mir, Mohammad Ibrahim Sheikh, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh a resident of the area informed MLA Inderwal G M Saroori over phone. Saroori assured them that he will discuss this matter with Animal and Sheep husbandry department and all necessary steps would be taken in controlling the spread of the disease and better care for the infected animals. Later Sheep and Animal husbandry medical team holds a camp at Mugalmaidan and also visited the Kuchal area where animals suffering from the disease were given free treatment by the team of Doctors and also injected the Anti Rabies Vaccine.

Meanwhile Saroori have also expressed deep grief and shock over the loss of at least two precious human lives over the tragic road accident on Doda-Thathri road. Both the persons were drowned when a car bearing registration No JK02 AT -0687 fell in river Chenab. The car was on its way from Doda to Thathri. On reaching about 1 KM away from Doda driver of the car lost control while negotiating a sharp curve and the vehicle fell in the Chenab River in Ghatsoo area. At least two persons were in the car when accident took place. Saroori has prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
