Without giving any reply to show cause notice, Fazal Mehmood Beigh, the brother of Member Parliament and senior Peoples Democratic Party leader Monday decided to quit the party. In a press briefing Fazal accused PDP leadership of sidelining the dedicated workers and said that black sheep present in the party are taking decisions at Gupkar without assessing the ground situation.Pertinently, PDP had issued a show cause notice to Fazal Mehmood Baig of Baramulla wherein he was asked to clear his position within seven days for taking  decision to contest as an independent candidate against the party's nominated candidate from Sangrama.

Fazal Mehmood Beigh according to CNS told reporters that PDP has been hijacked by few influential and wealthy people under whose influence party leadership is taking all the decisions. “This party has sidelined all those leaders and workers who put their sweat and blood to make the party strong from past decade,” he said adding that he will contest as an independent candidate from Sangrama constituency.
