The Punjab Government has approved the construction of three new Railway Over Bridges (ROBs) that would start in the month of October this year.Disclosing this here today Mr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Minister for Public Works Department said that these ROBs would be constructed with the cost of 94.18 crore. He said these ROBs would be built in Malwa region of the state in Malerkotla on Raikot Road, Gobindgarh and Northern Bypass Patiala.

Mr. Dhillon said that all these three ROBs are expected to be completed within 18 months. He added that construction work of Kapurthala ROB is in progress with estimated cost of RS 34 Crore and target has been fixed to complete this project by December, 2014.He further said that ROBs on Gurney, Khanna on Khanna-Lalheri Raod, Mukerian, Chhajli on Sunam Lehra and Sahnewal is at full swing and more than 80% work is complete. These two ROBs are being constructed with the estimated cost Rs. 111.80 crore. He said that all these five ROBs are expected to be completed within 6-8 months.The Minister said that the state Government is committed to provide better infrastructure and road connectivity for the development of the state. He said that the SAD-BJP Government strengthened the state road infrastructure by constructing 33 Railway Over/Under Bridges with the cost of   Rs. 564.95 crore during its previous tenure.
