While terming the order of the New Delhi government in which they have asked the UN Mission to vacate their office premises in Delhi as ridiculous action of the NDA government, Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani said that these types of actions can nether change the status of Kashmir issue nor can be this long pending issue solved in this way.A spokesman in a statement issued to GNS said that Hurriyat explained that though the Kashmiri people are not the party to any agreement like Simla Agreement, so neither are they bound by such agreements and nor has this agreement any impacted on the international status of Kashmir dispute.

The spokesman said that Modi government can increase its number of forces in Jammu and Kashmir, it can unleash more atrocities and cruelties upon the people or it can detain the pro-freedom people in jails but neither can it change the realities regarding the Kashmir dispute nor can it end its disputed nature which is recorded at international levels.“India itself took this dispute to the UNO and this biggest institution of the world not only justified the struggle of the Kashmiri nation but it also recommended the right to self-determination for the people of Kashmir and UNO passed 18 resolutions regarding the Kashmir and both India and Pakistan are signatory to these resolutions”, the spokesman said.

The spokesman said that the order of the government to vacate the office premises of UNMOGIP is equal to running away from the reality and it proves that the new government in New Delhi is immature and unbalanced and they are acting in haste.“While committing upon the stand of India that ‘UNMOGIP’s role has been overtaken by the Simla Agreement’, hurriyat spokesman said that the prime and real party to the Kashmir dispute are Kashmiries and nether were they any part of Simla agreement and nor were they asked any view point about it”, the spokesman said, adding that Firstly the Kashmiris don’t accept this agreement and secondly it is nowhere written in this agreement that the role of UNO has been overtaken by this agreement.

The spokesman further said that these are the historical facts that till 1947 the state of Jammu & Kashmir was an autonomous state and India forcibly occupied it after 47 and if the UN resolutions with regarding to the Kashmir would not have existed and the offices of United Nations Military Observation Group for India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) would not have been present in India and Kashmir, even then the occupation of India over Kashmir was illegal and unjustified and the people of Kashmir would not have surrendered their just struggle against this forced occupation.

He said that British were not bound by any international agreement to leave India when its people were struggling against their occupation but struggle for freedom is the birth right of every nation and no country in the world can forever place any nation under its forced occupation. He further said not only in Delhi but if India will close down the UN mission office in Kashmir also, even then Kashmiris can’t be deprived from their right of freedom and nor can they surrender their struggle for freedom.Meanwhile, the spokesman said that Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the holy month of Ramadan is going to organize a daylong “Nuzool-i-Quran Conference” on 16 July at its Hyderpora Headquarter, which is going to be presided by Chairman Hurriyat Syed Ali Geelani.
