A high level delegation comprising Members of the Parliament and MLAs  of SAD-BJP alliance in Punjab would meet the honourable President of  India Mr. Pranab Mukherji on May 8th in Delhi. The delegation will be led by the Parton of SAD and Punjab Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal and SAD President and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal. Apart from it Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal will meet Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Home Minister Mr. Sushil Kumar Shinde separately. This was decided in a meeting of the Core Committee of the SAD which met late evening today.

Giving information about the deliberations in the meeting, in a statement released from the party head office here today, the SAD Secretary and Spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that meeting discussed in detail situation prevailing in Delhi and other parts of the country after the acquittal of  Sajjan Kumar by a Delhi Court in a case related to murder of five Sikhs in cantt area of Delhi during the 1984 anti sikh riots. The Core Committee also urged the Prime Minister of India to immediately intervene and ensure that CBI files an appeal against the order of the a Delhi Court immediately in High Court and also ensure that the challan in a FIR registered in 1992 in the Nangloi police station of Delhi should also be sent to the court without any delay.The party also discussed about the points in detail for the memorandum to be submitted to the President of India.  

Members expressed deep concern on the deteriorating condition of Nirprit Kaur who lost her father during the anti sikh riots in 1984 and is no indefinite fast at Jantar Mantar in Delhi demanding formation of Special Investigative Team to look into the massacre of sikhs in November 1984 and felt that GOI should take immediate action in the matter. Apart from SAD Patron and Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and President of the party and Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal the others leaders who were present in the meeting include SGPC President S. Avtar Singh Makkar, S. Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, S. Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Jathedar Tota Singh, S. Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, S. Charanjit Singh Atwal, S. Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, S. Nirmal Singh Kahlon, S. Sucha Singh Langah, S. Sikander Singh Maluka, S. Manjit Singh GK, Jathedar Avtar Singh Hit and S. Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
