Mandeep @ Manna of Tarantaran City was apprehended by Ropar
Police in early hours on Monday. He was the only member of Sikander Sansi group
who was at large. 8 members of this gang are already in Jails across the
state.He has previously been arrested in 4 cases of murder and arms act
registered in Faridkot and Tarantaran. He was wanted in 5 cases of attempt to
murder and arms act in Amritsar and Tarantaran. He is Proclaimed offender in 3 of the 5 above cases.SSP, Ropar Police,
Swapan Sharma shared, "We recovered 2 pistols of 32 bore and some live
cartridges from his possession. Mandeep, Manna has been active in intergang
rivalry for last 8 years."Sansi gang has been arch rivals of Jaggu
Bawalpuria group in Amritsar area. Sansi gang has been active in Amritsar,
Tarantaran and Ajnala areas.Manna has been shot thrice by one Lamba Patti 4
years ago. Lamba Patti was later killed in an intergang shoot out by Divender
Bambiha. Jaggu Bawalpuria was till
recently lodged in Ropar jail. Manna was actively visiting this general area
and was planning to eliminate Jaggu during the court dates. This is the 6th gangster
Ropar Police has caught in last 9 months. Akash of Dilpreet gang was caught in
August last year. 3 gangsters of Pehalwan group were caught in February this
year. Kala of Pindri group was caught last month.
