Ensure redressal of complaints within 24 hours on NGRS : CEO

The Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab Dr. S. Karuna Raju today evaluated the functioning of National Grievance Redressal (NGRS) Portal, on which record pertaining to resolved complaints of the office of Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab and its subordinate offices in districts are being kept online. During the meeting, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab Mr. Bhupinder Singh Rai, IAS apprised the CEO that all the complaints received manually, through FAX or post at Election offices of state and district, are first of all digitized and uploaded to the portal besides resolving these plaints within 24 hours."Every person can register a complaint with regard to his/her vote and election related activities by calling on toll free number-1950 and by the same time this complaint will also be registered on NGRS portal," he said adding that till date 7,107 complaints have been received on this portal, out of which 7,031 have been disposed of and the remaining 76 complaints are under process.Appreciating the active functioning of National Grievance Redressal Portal, the CEO Dr. Raju directed to ensure the redressal of complaints within 24 hours on NGRS besides bringing the redressal process to cent percent. He said that this portal is boon to facilitate speedy office work and keeping record online as well and people could keep themselves up-to-date about the status of their complaints.
