On the occasion of International Women Day, a skill development centre has been inaugurated at R-Seti located in village Ayali Khurd on Hambran Road, here. The centre was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Dr Shena Aggarwal.After the inauguration of this skill development centre, Dr Shena Aggarwal interacted with the students and gave them a brief about the training to be imparted to them. She said that in today’s competitive world, training regarding skill development is very important for the youth. She said that on the completion of training, the students would be able to become self dependent and the main aim of Skill Mission would also be achieved.While providing information in detail about this training course, she said that for candidates from the scheduled castes, three-month training of textile machine operator would be given from 10 am to 1 pm (first batch) and from 2 pm to 5 pm (second batch) from Monday to Saturday. Upon the completion of training, efforts would be made to ensure jobs for the candidates in local industry.This function was also attended by Mr SK Gupta, Director, R-Seti, Mr Avtar Singh, Assistant Project Officer (M) DRDA, Mrs Harpreet Kaur, Coordinator, Skill Development Centre, Mr Daljit Singh, Trainer, Mr Sandeep Singh, besides students of first batch.
