Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal said that the politics of the previous governments rendered many families of Balmiki community homeless, but the present government by understanding their plight, has allotted them 237 plots at low cost in Karnal to rehabilitate them.Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has a vision to provide houses to all by 2022, he added.The Chief Minister was addressing the people after the bhumi pujan of plots allotted to residents of Balmiki Basti under rehabilitation by Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran, in Karnal today.He said that we only want to rehabilitate and support them and there is no place of politics in it. He said that he had also got constructed colony for Mirchpur victims according to their demand. These families had been living in tents for the last 10 years.He said that scholarships of Rs 8,000 to Rs 15,000 are being given to the children belonging to the families of Scheduled Castes, tappriwas and ghumantu jati for their education. He said that the state government is giving subsidy of Rs 12,000 to Rs 16,000 for the construction of toilet in every house.
