DGP chairs Darbar at Jammu; compliments & rewords Police personnel

On his maiden visit to the Jammu after taking over as the Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh, IPS chaired a darbar of the police personnel at Police Auditorium, Gulshan Ground, Jammu. The darbar was attended by IGP Jammu Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal, IGP Armed Shri Danesh Rana, DIG JSK Range Shri Bhim Sen Tuti, SSP Jammu Shri Vivek Gupta and Commandants of armed/IR battalions, Zonal heads and SsP of different wings.On the very outset the DGP complimented the Jammu police for successful operation at Kakriyal and added that by this clean operation with no fatal injury the achievement graph of Jammu police has gone further up. He said that the response to the emerging situation was very quick and adequate. The different forces on ground i.e Police, Army and CRPF exhibited a great spirit with the officers leading on the forefront. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has been fighting the militancy from last so many years and keeping in view our capabilities, we are near  our goal of completely finishing the militancy from the State.Sh Dilbag Singh  added that a number of successful operations were conducted against the militants in the State in past one week.DGP said that the police has the twin responsibility of being custodian and well as  maintainer of the peace and we are premier stake holders in peace.Going down the memory lane and referring to his probation period in Handwara, Kupwara the DGP said that over the years the facilities available in discharge of duties have increased manifold. 

While giving the orders for speedy redressal of  grievances the DGP appreciated some suggestions of the Jawans said that the personnel today are very capable and are thinking in a positive direction for the department. He said that it should be our priority to strengthen our Jawan who is the face of our force. He also advised the personnel to deliver at all posts and in all circumstances.Thanking the Hon’ble Governor Shri Satya Pal Malik for increasing the ex-gratia relief the DGP said that we have great expectations and have projected the needs and requirements before the government. We are hopeful that they will also be looked into sympathetically. He assured the officers and jawans that he would work for their welfare and the decisions in this regard will be taken on appropriate forum. In view of the Municipal Elections, the DGP directed the officers and jawans to be fully prepared for a peaceful and smooth election. He assured that their requirements will be looked into sympathetically.Earlier, the Sh Dilbag Singh  while presenting cash reward of Rs.1.00 lakh, thanked the people of the Kakriyal for cooperating with the police and security forces during the encounter. He assured all possible help to the family whose house got damaged in this encounter. The DGP also rewarded the officers and the Jawans who took part in this operation. In his welcome address IGP Jammu Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal welcomed the DGP and thanked him for his support and leadership. He said that Kakriyal operation was very tough in view of the dense vegetation in the area. Deputy Inspector General of Police, JSK Range, Shri Bhim Sen Tuti briefed the DGP about the response and the actions which went into making this encounter very successful.SSP Jammu Shri Vivek Gupta who presented the vote of thanks assured the DGP that the Jammu Police will continue to serve the department and the people with more zest and zeal and will act upon the advises of the DGP. Shri R.C Kotwal, SP (Hqrs) Jammu conducted the proceedings.
