Under Prime Minister Matru Vandana scheme, Benefits gave to 2965 beneficiaries - Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal

In order to provide benefit to the women during the time of the birth of a child, an amount of Rs. 57 Lacs 91 Thousand has been provided to 2965 beneficiaries under the Prime Minister Matru Vandana Yojana.While giving this information, DC  Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal said that under the Prime Minister Matru Vandana Yojna (PMMVY), an amount of Rs. 5000 is provided in three instalments to those women who have been pregnant for the first time from Ist January 2017.He said that the first installment of Rs.1000 is given to the pregnant after the registration through an anganwadi worker and making of Mother Child Protection card (MCP). The second installment of Rs. 2000 is given after the medical check-up of 6 months pregnant women and the third installment of Rs. 2000 is given after the first immunization of the child after birth.Ms. Rattandeep Sandhu District Program Officer said that some conditions have been laid down for the benefit of this scheme. Under these conditions, the beneficiary woman must have some documents such as aadhaar card, bank account on her name and MCP Card issued by health department. She further said that any women who work in the Central or State Government or in the semi-government sector cannot be given benefit of this scheme.She further said that to get more information regarding this scheme, they can contact the nearest Anganwadi Workers of the city or village, or they can contact on the website of Women and Child Development Department.
