Tens of thousands of people on Monday participated in the funeral prayers of Sadam Hussain Padder, who was Burhan Wani's close associate and Bilal Ahmad Mohand in their respective villages in south Kashmir's Shopian district.Reports reaching GNS said that the slain Hizb commanders Saddam Hussain Paddar of Heff, Shopian and Bilal Ahmad Mohand of Heff Shirmal, Shopian were laid to rest in their respective villages amid pro-freedom slogans.Multiple funerals were offered for the duo before their burial.A group of militants also appeared during the funeral prayers and offered the gun salute to the slain in their respective villages.Meanwhile, the Darbar move offices opened in summer capital Srinagar amid tightened security arrangements and restrictions in the old city of Srinagar and other sensitive parts of Kashmir Valley.Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) was arrested when he tried to defy the restrictions outside his residence and march towards civil secretariat.In a statement a spokesman of the amalgam said that Mirwaiz was detained on Monday after he defied his house detention and tried to march towards Secretariat, Mirwaiz along with his supporters was leading towards Secretariat Chalo came out of his residence at Nigeen in Srinagar and tried to march towards Secretariat However, a police party detained the Mirwaiz and lodged him at Nigeen police station.Senior resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani also remained house arrest while JKLF Chairman Yasin Malik remained into custody since last Saturday.Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Yasin Malik has called for Secretariat Chalo’ today, JRL also expresses solidarity with the people and offer condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones.A complete shutdown is being observed in Kashmir Valley against recent killings at the hands of government forces.All shops and business establishments are closed along with colleges, schools and other educational institutions. Traffic was also off the roads. Kashmir University has already postponed all the exams scheduled for today while it has suspended class work for two days till Tuesday in the varsity.The Internet also remained suspended in Srinagar, Ganderbal and all four districts of south Kashmir. Train services also remained suspended.Five civilian and as many militants were killed in Shopian district of south Kashmir on Sunday. While nearly 60 civilians were injured. (GNS)
