Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal called upon Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot at New Delhi yesterday.Dr. Saizal apprised him about various schemes and programmes being implemented by State's Social Justice and Empowerment Department. He said that the socio-economic development of all sections of the society and equal representation of women in all spheres of development was the priority of present state government. State government had also recently established a 24x7 'Gudiya Help Line' to control crime against women. He also apprised the Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister about various state run schemes for senior citizens. He said that the state government immediately after assuming power had reduced the age from 80 to 70 years for social security pension. It will benefit thousands of elderly people of the state.Dr. Saizal requested the Union Minister for providing more money for various central schemes.Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot said that the union government was providing enough financial assistance to Himachal Pradesh and assured him that Himachal would be provided adequate money for successful implementation of various welfare schemes.
