To raise awareness among the unemployed youths of rural areas of Kishtwar about the welfare schemes in different government departments and take maximum benefits from the same to earn livelihood, JK Khadi and Village Industries Board Kishtwar organized three-day district level Exhibition-Cum-Awareness Camp on PMEGP at ITI Ground Kishtwar.District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana inaugurated the programme. Large number of participants from various zones including district heads from various line departments and banks were present on the occasion and installed their departmental stalls to exhibit the departmental schemes.District Officer KVIB Kishtwar Mohammad Iqbal Bhat apprised about various schemes under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and their benefits, particularly to the unemployed youths.The Principal ITI Kishtwar besides other district Officers and representatives of RSETI also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the various schemes in the department.
District Development Commissioner Kishtwar in his address emphasized the need of organizing such programmes regularly at every tehsil headquarters of the district to ensure optimum response from the unemployed to establish their own ventures under the said schemes best suited to them in the large interest of the society. He informed the students that after qualifying the ITI course, they have the option of either establishing their own income generation units or go for government employment which he said are not optimum to be provided to every person and hence better to choose to establish industrial units.He also appealed to the people especially the unemployed youths to come forward and avail maximum benefits under such schemes to become self –sufficient and self-reliant.District Officer KVIB while speaking on the occasion exhorted upon the youths for showing their interest in starting their own income generating ventures. He advised them to understand the schemes so that they can choose their career and urged them to take maximum benefits from the schemes.
