Continuing his public outreach campaign in the far off rural areas and ensure provision of basic amenities at the people’s doorsteps, Chairman Legislative Council Haji Anayat Ali today conducted an extensive tour of the remote villages of Shargole block. During the visit. The Chairman also listened to the grievances and problems of the locals and assured their timely solution.Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Haji Gulzar Hussain, Senior Superintendent of Police Tsering Gyalpo, Councillor Shargole Haji Muhammad Ali, ACD Kargil Kacho Turab Shah besides other officers of the concerned departments accompanied the Chairman.On the occasion, the inhabitants of Balti Khar, Changyul and Marpoyul of the Sapi area, Fokar, Fokar Phoo, Karmba, Khachay, Shargole main, Tingdoo and adjoining villages projected a number of demands related to adequate supply of safe drinking water and power, construction of community halls, provision of generator and kitchen sets and other items besides other demands. Responding to the demands, the Chairman gave away Rs. thirty thousand to   two women’s self help groups (SHGs) of Tingdoo village,    Rs. Fifty Thousand for repair of khul at Goma Las, Rs. thirty thousand to four women SHGs of Sapi area. Meanwhile on the directions of the Chairman SSP Kargil also announced Rs. Thirty thousand for running winter tuition classes for the students of Sapi area.  

Haji Anayat Ali also announced funds out of his (CDF) for purchase of generator sets and kitchen sets, furniture items and carpets in favour of the women self help groups besides the construction of community halls and other related infrastructure in these villages. He also directed the engineers of PWD, PHE, RD and I&FC departments to prepare DPRs for construction of link roads, footpaths, water supply schemes and other allied infrastructure to upgrade public amenities.The Chairman said that the government is taking concreted measures to resolve  genuine concerns of the people  at proper forums. He said that development of far off villages by way of creation of adequate infrastructure is among the priorities of the Government adding that he no stone shall be left unturned to ensure that these are properly implemented on the ground. He appealed to the people to join hands with the government for development and prosperity of the far off areas.Haji Anayat Ali informed that to provide seamless connectivity to the district and to connect it to the mainstream through telecom services, 157 mobile towers have been sanctioned which are being installed in near future at Tsarags, Sapi, Hambuting La, Hagnis and other far off pockets in near future. He further informed that 149 ration stores have been sanctioned for the dsitrict so that people are provided ration at their doorsteps. The Chairman said that with the objective to empower the women folk of these villages funds to the tune of Rs 3.10 lacs have been provided out of his CDF in favour of 10 women SHGs.Underling the importance of Sapi Lake for giving boost to tourism in the area, the Chairman said that a tourist Dakbungalow has been sanctioned under district plan to facilitate the tourists visiting there.

While impressing upon the need to construct a motorable road and pony track to ease access to the lake, the Chairman directed the concerned officers to frame requisite DPRs in this regard. While taking stock of the availability of ration and medicare facilities, Haji Anayat directed the concerned to ensure early deployment of paramedical staff, provision of 20% extra quota of medicines besides ration in advance upto March next year.The officers of Vijayak and PWD were directed to keep men and machinery in readiness to carry out snow clearance operations in the area during winter months and release the payment in favour of the villagers on account of compensation of trees and land acquired for road widening operations.The Chairman also issued on spot directions to the officers of PDD for repair of electric supply lines and installation of adequate number of electric poles so as to ensure proper electric supply to the inhabitants. He also directed ACD Kargil for generating additional 100 mandays for cardholders of Goma Sapi under MGNREGA. The officers of PWD department were directed to ensure early completion of Darchok Zamba-Tingdoo Road on priority basis.Earlier,  the inhabitants of these villages accorded a warm welcome to the Chairman and thanked him for taking first hand appraisal of their grievances and demands.
