Sham Lal Choudhary convenes public grievances redress camp

Maintaining the tradition of holding public grievances redressal camps at regular intervals, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today listened to the grievances and concerns of the common masses during a public meeting at Kathua.MLA Hiranagar, Kuldeep Raj was also present on the occasion. The people hailing from Sanoora, Ghagwal, Jatwal, Sandhi, Chandma, Rampur, Chabbe Chak, Dinga Amb, Pakka Kotha, Satka Chak, Sounthal, Logate, Lakhanpur, Badoli, Mangloor, Jasrota and other villages apprised the Minister of the problems being faced by them related to ration distribution, power supply, road connectivity, sanitation, renewal of gun licence, bifurcation of ration cards, amendments in Aadhar and voter cards besides inconvenience in getting PRC on time.The villagers demanded upgradation of transformers, PHE pipes, replacement of electric poles, LT and HT wires, blacktopping of roads, deep hand pumps, tube wells, crates and construction of lanes and drains.

The Minister said that steps are being taken to upgrade the transformers and repairing the old ones, wherever required so that PHE supply is not disrupted. He further said that efforts are being made to provide drinking water supply to every house by augmenting PHE infrastructure and constructing new tube wells and OHTs.The Minister informed that issues related to renewal of gun licences, PRC, ration and voter cards will be taken up with the district administration soon. He assured them that repair of hand pumps and replacement of old machinery will be done on priority so that people do not have to suffer on this account.During the camp, Issues of Irrigation canals, crates for protection during floods and streamlining water supply in border areas were also discussed. The Minister also sanctioned on the spot deep hand pumps for border dwellers.

The MLA demanded 50 hand pumps for his constituency and informed the Minister that PHE infrastructure has been strengthened under BADP to the satisfaction of the people. He demanded early completion of flood prevention works being executed along the Ujh river.SE Hydraulic, Ashok Sharma; CE PHE, Ashok Gandotra; Engineers of PHE , Irrigation,  Flood Control  and Ground Water department along with members of civil society were present during the redressal camp.
