As Swachta Hi Seva is on peak in Kupwara and rest of the districts in Kashmir valley, Locals of District kupwara allege that the district administration has so far failed to work on the ground levels.Swachta Hi Seva- A mission to Clean India was started by Narendra Modi and on the inaugural day Modi himself held a cleanliness drive by cleaning the worst hit drains, Streets and Roads.From that day "Swach Baharat Mission" was carried out in many parts of the country.Deputy Development Commissioner Khalid Jahangir on 13 September (Friday) of this Month, flagged off a Swachta Hi Seva accompanied by all the high officials of the District.The mission has failed so far to benefit the public, as locals repeatedly alleged that administration has only carried out rallies only but haven't started any mission for cleanliness.Locals alleged that they have been requesting to the authorities from past couple of months but they never pay heed to all out requests.“All the drains, Riversides and roadside garbage dumping has made our life hell, Even most of the times we are worse hit by some insects and that create huge chaos in our daily life,” Said a Local from Buhipora.He also alleged that the daily and continuous smell gives people a tough time in Kupwara.“The Main drainage system is blocked from past years and administration has never come so far despite our constant appeals,” another local said. Locals blocked the road and asked the administration to first work on the ground, then carry out rallies.
