Govt focused on development of education infrastructure in rural areas : Abdul Haq Khan

Lays foundation of Girls Hostel at Devar Lolab, Inaugurates Rest House at Inderbugh

Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq Khan today said the government is focused to resolve the issues of the people and efforts are afoot to provide required basic facilities especially in the remote areas. He said special focus is being laid on developing education infrastructure in Government run schools.The Minister said this during his extensive tour to Lolab constituency. He was accompanied by SP Kupwara and other senior officers of the district.The Minister laid foundation of 100 bedded Girls Hostel at Devar in Lolab valley. The double story building will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3.6 crore.While speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the government is committed to provide modern facilities in the schools especially in far flung areas besides providing boarding facilities to the students so that they can continue their higher studies.

On the occasion the students belonging to ST category thanked the Minister for meeting their demand of providing the hostel. They said that they have to live in costly rented accommodations in the absence of hostel. They said hostel will fulfill their demand and will ease their financial burden.

The Minister also gave Rs 5 lakh assistance to the Girls Higher Secondary School Devar for Skill Development of the girls belonging to ST category.

At Inderbugh the Minister also inaugurated a Rest House constructed by R&B Department at the cost of Rs 55.22 lakh. The Minister also inspected work on another rest house being constructed by Department of Tourism at the cost of Rs 76 lakh.The Minister directed the officials to expedite the work so that the rest house can be completed well in time.Abdul Haq also inspected a Fisheries Pond at Kadiwan in Devar area. The Minister said the fisheries pond will be developed as a tourist resort. He said the pond will be renovated to attract more tourists in the area.
