Dy CM dedicates Community Transformer Bank to people at Rajouri

The Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh today dedicated a Community Transformer Bank to people of this border district.The Community Transformer Bank, first of its kind in the State, is created by District Administration, with a target of procuring more than 200 transformers in convergence of different schemes to  strengthen  the rural electrification. The CTB will be augmented every 3 months.Presently the bank has 100 transformers  including  65 transformers of 25 KVA capacity and 35 of 63KVA capacity.Present on the occasion were District Development Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, S. E.  PDD Manhar Gupta, ADDC A.S. Chib, SSP Yougal Manhas, Ex. En. PDD Umesh Parihar besides other district officers and field staff of PDD.  

The Dy. CM complimented the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary and entire team of Administration and Power Development Department for launching a massive drive against illegal power connections and power thefts under which a record amount of Rs 25.45 Lakh fine has been imposed in 12 days and 564 connections involving a load of 415KW regularized by conducting 1807 inspections.

He lauded the daily monitoring and reporting mechanism put in place by District Administration to conduct this drive and for monitoring replacement of damaged transformers.  He also appreciated the administration for initiating process of replacing damaged transformers of RGGVY.He also reviewed the progress under Deen Dayal Upadhya Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana and was informed that 3 villages in Narla-Bambal have been taken up during current year and work is under progress

The Dy. CM impressed upon the officials of PDD to maintain close coordination with administration so that the drive against illegal power connections could progress in a mission mode.  He also directed administration and PDD to conduct a survey to identify left out houses, hamlets in the district for electrification.He also exhorted upon the concerned officials to reduce unscheduled power cuts and take up-gradation of power distribution transformers as per requirement.  He further stressed on timely replacement of damaged transformers to avoid any inconvenience to genuine power consumers.On the occasion, the Superintending Engineer PDD Rajouri informed that a total   2786 transformers in the district are catering to 80167 legal connection holders. He further informed that Rs. 1 crore is being expended under Constituency Development Fund for improvement of LT-HT network in the district, especially in rural areas.
