The residents of Gamandar Mohalla, Nowgam village of Handwara area are up in arms against Power Development Department (PDD) for ‘failing to restore electricity in their area from past month.’The residents said that the department has miserable failed to repair the transformer which developed technical snag in the last month.The official apathy has forced the villagers to reel under darkness.They said that they are facing immense hardships due to the in absence of electricity in their area especially in the month of Ramadhan. “The authorities are ignoring the hardships being faced by the people here. We have been left to suffer in the moth of holy Ramadhan,” they said.They said that they approached to the officials in PDD division Handwara in this regard but unfortunately nothing has been done in this regard.They later appealed to the higher ups to look into the matter and fulfill their demands as soon as possible.
