A one-day Regional Workshop on “Electronic Payments & Receipts in Government” was organized at Chandigarh. It was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, Additional Chief Secretary, Deptartment of Governance Reforms, Home Affairs & Justice, Punjab. The participant states were Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh. This workshop was coordinated by the Directorate of Governance Reforms, Punjab which was organized by National E-Governance Division (NeGD).On this occasion, Dr. Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi laid emphasis on the importance of ‘Electronic Payments & Receipts in Government’ and importance of Cyber Security for successful online transactions, citizen centric service delivery in government projects.Divulging more, a spokesman said that this workshop was organized for officers from Finance/Treasury Services and DGR/IT Department, NIC and implementation partners involved in IFMS and other e-Governance Projects in the State, Finance officers/DDO's and department officers involved in IT Projects of various line departments, especially those where government is involved in financial transactions with citizens/business, Divisional /District financial officers.The workshop was organized in coordination with National Institute for Smart Government (NISG), Hyderabad to build regional Capacity Building (CB) as per guidelines of National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.  Two panel discussions were also organized during the workshop.Prominent among others present on the occasion were Dr. Rajesh Sharma, Director-CB, NeGD, Devender Singh, Principal Secretary, Deptt of Electronics & IT, Govt. of Haryana, Krishnan Dharmarajan, Executive Director, CDFI, Chandrasekhar Senior Manager CB and Ms. Ruchi Arora Consultant CB, NeGD.
