Two Bajrang Dal activists and two BJP workers were detained while they were trying to show black flags to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during her visit to Jagannath temple in Puri, police here said on Wednesday. The activists were protesting a statement of Banerjee in which she allegedly supported consumption of beef. The police detained a servitor of the Jagannath Temple on Tuesday for allegedly threatening to oppose the West Bengal Chief Minister's visit to the 12th-century shrine.Meanwhile, amid tight security, Banerjee went to the Sri Jagannath temple and paid her obeisance to the deities."I am a Hindu and my family is religiously connected with lord Jagannath and I offer prayer in my house. In my state, every person worships Lord Jagannath with much reverence and ensures visiting Puri at least six times a year. For us, Kali Ghat, Dakhineswari Mandir or Jagannath Mandir, are all the same. In Digha or Puri, the beaches are equally captivating," she had earlier told reporters on Wednesday.
