Holding incumbent Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti responsible for present Kashmir imbroglio, Congress party Wednesday said that Kashmir is likely to witness many more incidents like Chadoora where three civilians were shot dead by Government Forces on Tuesday.Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Ayer told Kashmir based news agency CNS that there is hell of difference between Mehbooba Mufti of past and Mehbooba Mufti of present. “Her language and tone has totally changed after her party forged an alliance with Bhartiya Janata Party. It is not the same Mehbooba who talked about healing the wounds of people of Kashmir but it is the Mehbooba who talks like BJP now, that only aggravates the situation,” Ayer said. While regretting the killing of three civilians in Central Kashmir, Ayer said that 2016-17 winters in Kashmir had given a golden opportunity to Government of India to talk to stake-holders, but it missed that golden opportunity. “We fail to understand why Government of India is shying away from talks. Only talks can lead to permanent solution. Even former Home Minister P.Chidambaram had suggested to present BJP Government to rewind the clock back to 1947 and talk to the stake-holders,” he said and added that he is afraid that incidents like Chadoora are bound to take place in future as well. The former diplomat claimed that as long as Mehbooba will rule the state with the help of BJP, peace will never restore in Valley. “People of Kashmir detest Mehbooba in new avatar as they like the old Mehbooba who always stood for them in past. It is high time for Mehbooba Mufti to part ways with BJP and apologize to the people of Valley,” he said adding that Mehbooba Mufti has no answers to questions of people as she views the Kashmir situation from the prism of Bhartiya Janata Party.
