Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu organised State Level Seminar on “Decent work and economic Growth, Goal 8 of UN”.The objective of the seminar was to discuss the United Nations aims to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, productive employment and decent work for all.Inaugurating the day-long seminar, Principal Prof J.L Bhagat, stressed on implementating Global Jobs Pact of the International Labour Organization for youth employment. He further appreciated the efforts of the organising committee to conduct such activities for the benefit of the students. He also assured to extend every possible support for conducting such events in the future.Highlighting objective of the seminar Head of Department, Commerce, Prof Neeru Bhalla in her key note address focussed on the need in achieving higher level of economic productivity through diversification by adopting high-value added and labour intensive sectors.Speaking on the occasion, Members from Gandhian Global family Mr. S.P Verma (Padma Vibhushan), Mr. Kuldeep Luthra and Mr. Raghav motivated the students to be a part of organization by connecting themselves with UN.The seminar comprised of three sessions with ten participants divided in each included faculty and students from various Degree colleges of the state. The papers were also presented followed by interactive sessions which were chaired by Prof. Neeru Bhalla, Prof. Kiran Raina and Prof Anjali Mahajan.Prof. Rashmi Arya presented the welcome address, while Prof. Anita Kumari delivered vote of thanks.
