In order to strengthen cashless transactions and to spread awareness among the people and merchants about it, the Information Technology Department today organized Digital Banking Mela ‘DigiDhan Mela’ here at Indoor Stadium.The event which saw huge participation of the people was organized in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Bank.Speaking on the occasion, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmed Khan, who was the chief guest, said the main objective of the event was to educate people about use and benefits of cashless transactions.Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Farooq Ahmed Lone appreciated the work of the different banks making the cashless payments possible.The function was attended by SDM Srinagar Syed Haneef Balkhi, President J&K Bank, and representatives of different banks who are operating in Kashmir Division.Later, the Div Com and DC inspected different stalls that were setup by different banks and telecom companies that promote e-commerce and cashless transactions.
