Durg-addict father kills baby, Police register murder case

Police on Monday arrested a man for allegedly tossing up her 11 months old baby girl on the wall during a scuffle with his wife in Bumloora village of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The deceased baby was identified as Aleema Javaid.Locals residents quoting the wife of the accused told news agency CNS that Javaid Ahmed Wani son of Ghulam Muhammad a resident of Bumloora entered into an argument with his wife after the later refused to give him money for the drugs. They said that the accused is a durg addict who always demanded money from his wife. “When wife didn’t budge and refused to give money to her husband, he pulled the baby from her mother’s lap and tossed on the wall. The baby felt unconscious and was immediately rushed to hospital where doctors declared her brought dead,” the locals said.Demanding stringent punishment to the culprit responsible for killing the baby girl, the locals staged a protest and disrupted traffic near main chowk Ganderbal. Police swung into action and arrested the accused. The protesters claimed that accused Javaid Wani who works as a labourer in JKPCC had set himself on fire two years back when then again his wife had refused to pay him for the drugs.Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganderbal Headquarters Raja Rameez said that accused has been arrested and a formal case vide FIR number 7/2017 under section 302, 109 of RPC has been registered against him. “We will collect all the evidences against the accused so that he can’t escape due to lack of the same,” he said.
