Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday said there was a distinct wave in favour of the Congress in Punjab, with both SAD and AAP having failed the people of the state as a result of their corrupt policies and anti-people agenda.Talking to mediapersons at Pipli en route to New Delhi, Captain Amarinder said once the ticket allocation process is complete in all the major parties and the candidates take to electioneering in full force, the people’s mood in favour of the Congress would become even more  palpable. In response to a question, the PPCC president once again made it clear that there was no question of compromising on the SYL canal issue even if it meant losing out on former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda's support in the Assembly election campaign in Punjab.Replying to a media query about  AAP eying Punjab after Delhi, Captain Amarinder dismissed Arvind Kejriwal's party as an outfit of corrupt and greedy individuals who were busy selling tickets, with several party leaders even caught in sex and drugs scandals.

He added that AAP stands completely exposed in the wake of allegations of bribery, drugs and sex scandals against various AAP leaders by their own party members and workers.Captain Amarinder categorically ruled out the possibility of AAP realizing its dream of ruling Punjab, pointing out that the party had absolutely no base in the state. He pointed out that AAP had failed to meet the expectations of the people of Delhi, which had a large Punjabi population. It is evident, he said, that AAP had absolutely no connect with Punjabis and did not understand their aspirations. This was evident in the fact that the party was reportedly bringing in another 50000 people from UP and Bihar to campaign for them in Punjab, said Captain Amarinder, adding AAP clearly had no base in the state. To a question on former Union MoS Manish Tewari getting the ticket for the upcoming Assembly polls, Captain Amarinder said it was up to the Congress high command, adding Manish was a senior party leader.
