Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has sought explanation from both PPCC, chief Captain Amarinder Singh and Punjab deputy chief minister for their senior party leaders’ close association with the drug mafia lords in the state.Lambasting Capt Amarinder for his dubious and double speak, AAP, Punjab Convener, Gurpreet Singh Waraich said that before raising other issues pertaining to the state the former must explain his party leaders Inderbir Singh Bolaria and Sarwan Singh Phillaur’s close association with drug mafia lords Satpreet Singh Satta and Bittu Aulakh. Both Satta and Bittu Aulakh’s name figured in the investigation records of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) where they even revealed how they were in touch with many politicians including Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia.
Waraich said while on one hand Capt Amarinder makes fool of the people by promising to eliminate drugs from Punjab while on the other hand he went out of the way to invite Bolaria and Phillaur in his party and is equally keen to offer them tickets to contest from the congress party.Referring to the pictures appeared in the national media where pictures have appeared of Bolaria and Phillaur along with Satta and Bittu Aulakh, Waraich said this has exposed the real character of Capt Amarinder.“ First Capt Amarinder saved Majithia from the CBI probe and now he wants to give tickets to Bolaria and phillaur who have been closely associated with the drug trade in Punjab’, added Waraich.Waraich also criticized Sukhbir for trying to save the skin of his brother in law and Punjab revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia, against whom serious charges of drug trade was leveled by none other than drug lord and former DSP Jagdish Bhola.
