Seminar on ‘Stand-up India’ scheme held in Ramban

As part of measures to promote entrepreneurship among the educated unemployed youth, District administration Ramban today organized a one day seminar cum workshop on “Stand-up India” scheme.District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban Mohammad Aijaz inaugurated the seminar.Prominent among others present were CPO Uttam Singh, Lead District Bank Manager Rajiv Sharma, DDM-NABARD, Arushi Sharma, CAO, H.K Razdan, CHO Lokesh Bali DSWO Varunjeet Charak, ADs and Bankers were also present on the occasion.While speaking on the occasion, the DDC asked the bankers and district officers to organize joint awareness programmes in every nook and corner to sensitize and educate stakeholders including women folks about scope of the scheme. He stressed on providing detailed information about logistics involved in the operation of business, factory services, online registration   and e-marketing for smooth flourishing of the business project. The services of field functionaries of all departments shall also be utilized for widespread information, he directed. 

He further said that bankers and district officers have to work in coordination for selection of deserving and eligible beneficiaries and identify the activities having potential to grow in the area. The successful project under ‘Stand-up India’ will certainly open new job opportunities for the youth in this hilly district, he added.The meeting was informed that the scheme also intends to facilitate at least two such projects per bank branch for STs or SCs and women on an average one under each category of entrepreneur. He said in this regard the Government of India has fixed the target of at least 2.5 lakhs approvals within 36 months from the date of launch of the scheme throughout the country.The concerned officers and Bank representatives expressed their views on possibilities to be explored for boosting the entrepreneurship among the youth. A number of suggestions and innovative ideas were given by participants for effective implementation of the scheme in the district.Meanwhile a team headed by Chief Planning Officer was constituted to monitor overall progress made on the part of officers, bankers and ground level workers in educating the stakeholders, while Lead Bank Manager shall furnish progress on the mobilization of general masses for taking the benefit of the scheme.
