Describing Surgical Strike conducted by Indian Army to destroy the terrorists’ camps in PoK as befitting reply to Pakistan, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today congratulated Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi for taking this daring step to convey a clear cut message to all that India would retaliate in the same manner as adopted by its neighboring country.Interacting with media after unveiling the statute of Mother Teresa during a state level function here at airport road, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the entire nation is with Prime Minister in his bold decision to ensure the sovereignty and security of the country.Recalling the good deeds of Mother Teresa, Deputy CM said that Mother Teresa had come to India and had extended her helping hands to the underprivileged and needy people of the country. Mr. Badal said that Mother Teresa’s service to humanity is a source of inspiration for all. He said that this state level function was organized by Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and entire cabinet to celebrate the sainthood awarded to Mother Teresa by Pope Francis.Mr. Badal said that and it was matter of proud for Punjabis that Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal was part of delegation to Mother Teresa’s canonization at the Vatican. Deputy Chief Minister also announced to name the road from Amritsar to Rajasansi airport at the name of Mother Teresa.
Meanwhile replying to media queries, Revenue and Public relations Minister Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia said that Punjabis were always ready to face any hard time or situation. Mr. Majithia said that he has visited the villages of border area and witnessed that people there were in high spirit to face any challenge.Earlier addressing the state level function organized to celebrate the sainthood awarded to Mother Teresa by Pope Francis, Mr. Majithia said that September 4, 2016 was a remarkable day for those who believe in humanity as on this very day Pope Francis declared sainthood for Teresa during a ceremony at the Vatican in front of tens of thousands of people and added that this is a matter of proud not only for Christian community but for all Indians. Mr. Majithia said that Mother Teresa was one of the greatest souls serving mankind and she was always near the God. Remembering the Bhagat Puran Singh on this occasion, Mr. majithia said that the absence of personalities like Mother Teresa and Bhagat Puran Singh would always be felt.Recalling the services of Mother Teresa for the poor, Mr. Majithia detailed the welfare schemes launched by the SAD-BJP government for the welfare of Christian Community. He said that Punjab Government has established Punjab State Minority Commission and Christian Welfare board to ensure the welfare of Christian Community. He said that Punjab was the first state to celebrate the Christmas as a state level function.
