At least seven persons died after a Beacon vehicle carrying labourers met with an accident in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday.Reports said that five bodies were recovered from the site of the accident in Tragbal late last night.The vehicle was on its way to Bandipora from Gurez when the accident took place.Reports quoting police official said that 17-18 persons were travelling on the ill-fated vehicle.He said seven persons have died while nine others have suffered injuries, adding that all the injured have been shifted to a hospital in Srinagar for treatment.The driver of the vehicle, also feared dead, is still missing, he said.The deceased as per reports have been identified as Madhu Harman, Jasu Harman, Sibu Muran, Pagan Muran, Chanu Harman(matt), Kisum Marmo s/o Prabhat Marmo- all residents of Jharkhand – and Manzoor Ahmad Palal (35), son of Mohd. Rafiq Khan, resident of Tanghat Bandipora.Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today expressed grief and anguish over the loss of precious human lives in a tragic road accident near Tragbal on Bandipora-Gurez road.

In her condolence message, the Chief Minister conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families. She directed the administration to provide all required treatment to the injured in accident.Meanwhile, Governor N.N. Vohra also expressed grief over the loss of lives in an accident on the Gurez-Bandipora road. In a condolence message the Governor has conveyed his sympathies to the members of the bereaved families and prayed for peace to the departed souls.He has wished speedy recovery to the persons injured in this accident.Raj Bhavan Spokesperson noted that the Governor has expressed serious concern, yet again, about the recurring loss of precious lives in road accidents and the continuing delay in the required remedial steps being effectively enforced.
