Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr. Nassir Ahmad Naqash convened a meeting of officers here today to review the arrangements to be put in place for forthcoming Muharam.During the meeting, the issues relating to uninterrupted power supply, water supply and supply and distribution of ration, availability of doctors and ambulances, repair of link roads from where the procession are going to be held during Muhurram days, sanitation and security plan was also discussed threadbare.Directing the concerned for distribution of ration including K.oil and LPG cylinders well in time, the Deputy Commissioner also asked the Gas agencies to keep additional quota of LPG Gas Cylinders in the district besides ensuring that the allotted quota is delivered well before the time.
Directing the PDD authorities to make sure that streets lights are in working condition on the roads leading to Imambadas, the Deputy Commissioners asked the Municipal Committee to ensure cleanliness on the places where congregations to be held.A joint control room has been established with telephone Nos: 01952234410, 01952237830 to redress the grievances of people if any during the Muharam with regard to essential services.SSP, SE PDD, ACR, CMO, ACD, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Engineers from PHE, PDD, R & B, RDD, officers from Municipal committees , Various officers from different Departments, Members of Shia Association and Civil society members were present during the meeting.
