Afghan President calls up Modi, condemns Uri attack

Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday called up Prime Minister Narendra Modi and "strongly condemned" Sunday's cross-border terror attack in Uri and conveyed his country's solidarity with India in the fight against terror."President Ghani strongly condemned the cross-border terror attack and conveyed Afghanistan's solidarity and support with India against all actions to eliminate the threat of terrorism," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement. "President Ghani expressed his condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers," it said.Modi thanked Ghani for Afghanistan's support, it added.Ghani was in New Delhi last week during which he held talks with Modi.
