Militants attack army convoy in Kralgund, Army launches manhunt

At least three army personnel sustained injuries after suspected militants attacked an army convoy Udipora – Gangapora village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. According to KNS correspondent, Iqbal Amin, sources said that at around 8:00 am of this morning, suspected militants carried out an attack on army convoy when they were heading towards Srinagar from Kupwara.They informed that in the attack three army men sustained injuries and were shifted to the hospital for treatment.Meanwhile, Defense Spokesman, Colonel N N Joshi told KNS that two army men were injured after the militants attacked the convoy. “Injured troopers were shifted to the hospital for treatment and are stable,” he said.Joshi further said that Army has condoned the whole area and has launched a massive nab hunt.Meanwhile, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen’s operation commander, Burhan-ud-din in a tele-statement issued to KNS claimed the responsibility of the attack.While praising the militants for carrying out the attack, Burhan said, “Two army men were killed while four other troopers were injured during the attack carried out by the militants.” (KNS)
