Dr. Nirmal Singh asks IRCON to expedite R-APDRP works

Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh has  directed the executing agencies to work in double shifts to expedite the R-APDRP works in Jammu province.The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing officers during a review meeting convened to discuss the status of implementation of Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) project in Jammu province here today.The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary Power Development Department, Dheeraj Gupta, Development Commissioner Power Gul Ayaz, Chief Engineer Jammu, Ashwani Gupta, Chief Engineer PDD Kashmir Bashir Khan, representatives of IRCON and concerned officers.Threadbare discussions were held on various vital issues for timely implementation of various R-APDRP projects.Dr. Nirmal Singh directed the IRCON authorities to expedite implementation of RAPRDP which has a huge potential of upgrading the power infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. He asked the IRCON officials to work in double shift to complete the prestigious project to meet the set deadline of March 2017.

Dr. Singh impressed upon all officers to work with synergy so that the projects would be implemented within stipulated time frame. He said that coordination among the allied departments should be ensured for early implementation of the R-APDRP in Jammu adding that the special care should be taken for undertaking the quality checks of the material being used for augmenting the power infrastructure.The Deputy Chief Minister asked the IRCON authorities to maintain close liaison with the PDD and other related departments to remove the bottlenecks if any in the implementation of the scheme. He also directed them for taking regular review meetings to monitor the pace of the works.He also directed the Executive Engineers to constitute teams which will conduct regular checking and take stern action against power theft.Later, Dr. Nirmal Singh also discussed the progress of R-APDRP works being executed by M/S EMC LTD in Kathua, Samba and RS Pura which falls in cluster III.Expressing dissatisfaction over the pace of the work, Dr. Singh directed the executing agency to speed up the works with necessary manpower and machinery to complete the project in given time.
