Deputy Commissioner Mr Showkat Aijaz today visited several sale centers here to monitor distribution of ration, even as he directed for expediting lifting and distribution of essential commodities on war footing basis..Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed ration and medicine availability at a meeting of CA& PD and health officers. It was given out in the meeting that 10, 574 quintals of rice covering 44, 583 families stand lifted and distributed against the total monthly allocation of 21,500 quintals. The process of lifting balance quantitity of ration is in full swing, the meeting was told.
The CMO while briefing the meeting said that adequate quantity of life saving drugs and essential medicines are available in all the health institues of the district. The district hospital is well equipped to cater to emergencies and carry out both major and minor surgeries.The Deputy Commissioner called for round the clock efforts to provide essential services to the public. He said all the concerned officers must rise to the occasion and work in tandem for facilitaing the common man in the obtaining situation.Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Medical Officer and Assistant Director, Food attended the meeting.
