Pro-Burhan graffitis appear in City

A few days after the killing of Hizb commander, Burhan Muzaffar Wani, pro-Burhan and pro-freedom slogans were seen written on the dozens of walls, streets and shop shutters in commercial hub Lal Chowk.The photographs available with KNS reveal that Pro-Burhan and Pro-Freedom slogans were seen written on the streets, walls and shops in the commercial hub Lal Chowk. Slogans including ‘Burhan our Hero, Burhan is still in our hearts, Freedom State of War, We want Azaadi (Freedom)’ were seen written in the business hub Lal Chowk.Pertinently, most popular militant and Hizb commander, Burhan Muzaffar Wani and his two associates were killed in an encounter that raged between forces and militants in Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.Soon after the news of killing spread, clashes erupted in most parts of the Valley during which 30 protesters were killed. Nonetheless there was no official confirmation about the killing of .

Hundreds of protesters were also injured during the clashes between youth and forces in cycle of ongoing violence triggered after Burhan’s death.About a hundred of police personnel have also received injuries in clashes while a cop was also killed in Sangam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district after protesters push vehicle into river Jhelum.Scores of police stations and ambulances were also damaged during the clashes between youth and forces in different areas of Kashmir.Meanwhile, separatists called for shutdown after the killing of Burhan Wani, which was later extended for two more days on Sunday and Monday.Both the factions of Hurriyat and JKLF have further extended the call for more two days. “We appeal people to observe complete shutdown on Tuesday and Wednesday,” they in a joint statement said.
