Expressing serious disappointment over the unnecessary delay in implementation of Govt Order No.215-Home of 2016, Dated 11.04.2016 for enhancing the honorarium of Special Police Officials (SPOs), CPI (M) MLA Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has said the SPOs are equal to their regular counterparts in discharging their duties so there should be no discrimination with them.Raising the issue during zero hour in legislative assembly today, Tarigami said that delaying the enhancement of remuneration of SPOs and their regularization is a matter of serious concern as a large number of educated unemployed youth have opted for this job keeping its promotional prospects into consideration.Despite featuring in Prime Ministers package, the government has shown its non seriousness in implementation its order for enhancement of honorarium of SPO’s which is quite unfortunate, The CPI (M) leader observed and added that the meager enhancement does not suffice the needs of these police personnel in view of present day inflation.
