Ahead of scheduled joint silent protest program by separatist leadership against the proposed Sainik and Pandit colonies, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik was Wednesday arrested from his Maisuma residence.According to a senior JKLF leader, Malik was arrested in the wee hours of this morning. “As soon as the Sehri time ended, a group of police arrived to Malik’s residence and detained him,” he said.He said that Malik was lodged at Kothi Bagh Police Station.Pertinently, authorities on Tuesday evening placed most of the leaders under house arrest. According to a senior Hurriyat (M) leader, “Shahid-ul-Islam and Javid Mir were placed under house arrest on Tuesday evening.” (KNS)
