Doda LMD imposes Rs 14300 fine on erring traders

Legal Metrology Department (LMD) Doda has imposed Rs 14300 fine on erring traders during market inspections in various areas of the District.Under the supervision of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, inspections were conducted in different parts of the district and the earring traders were challaned and booked for violating various provisions of J&K Standards of Weights and Measures (Enforcement) (Amendment) Act/Rules 2011. The inspection teams also charged a fine of Rs 14300 from the erring traders The department directed the traders to use only stamped and verified Weights and Measures instruments for business transactions and ensure that all the package commodities sold to the consumers bear MRP, Package date, Net contents and consumer care number.
