Raising a finger over the ‘integrity’ of incumbent PDP-BJP led Jammu and Kashmir Government, National Conference patron Dr Farooq Abdullah Wednesday said that he is not sure they (government) will conduct a free and fair elections in Anantnag constituency. “On the pretext of ‘unfavorable’ situation, Election Commission postponed the elections but I want to ask the Commission how come it feels situation is better now. I am not sure this election will be a fair one,” Farooq Abdullah told reporters after the culmination of a cultural program outside Tagore Hall here.He added that it is not a wise decision to conduct elections in the holy month of Ramzan. “As far as state assembly seat is concerned we are going to fight and we hope people will realize that she (Mehbooba Mufti) has joined hands with forces to destroy Jammu and Kashmir,” he said and claimed that he never rigged any election. “In 1987 so many ministers of National Conference lost elections which makes clear those elections were free and fair,”Responding to question, Farooq Abdullah said that: “Kashmir situation will never improve unless India and Pakistan come to an understanding, unless they meet and decide the future of parts of Kashmir, one which is held by them (Pakistan) and one which is with India.

They have to sit together and find a solution which will amicable and accepted by the larger majority of the people of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh and by people of India and Pakistan. This is the only solution that can work,” he said.Farooq Abdullah according to CNS said that in Budget there is lot of rhetoric in it. “We opposed it because we want tourists to come here and today the air fare is so high and moreover they have raised the aviation fuel tax that will keep tourists away from Kashmir. Where from you get tourists. They will prefer Dubai and Singapore given the fact that air fare to those destinations is cheap,” he said.Farooq Abdullah almost lost his cool when a reporter called him elderly person. “Don’t call me old. I am still young. What kind of questions you are posing,” he quipped.Earlier, Dr Farooq Abdullah enthralled the audience inside the Tagore Hall when he along with other guests shook his legs on a Kashmri musical number.
