Over five hundred daily rated workers of PHE Department whose services were regularized last year have threatened agitation if Administrative Department (Civil Secretariat) doesn’t approve creation of posts in their favour.Mir Tariq Pampori, Chairman J&K PHE Employees and workers Association, told news agency GNS that the Finance Department on 7 December 2015 regularized services of 529 daily rated workers through Empowered Committee and then the file was sent to Administrative Department for creation of posts and approval of Chief Engineer PHE Kashmir Division for formal orders.“There are certain conditions which Chief Engineer under SRO 64 was supposed to fulfil and he was supposed to issue formal orders.

But what they did they harassed us and kept us hanging for four months and delayed it. Instead what Chief Engineer was supposed to do was done by us and finally a month ago we got all those conditions fulfilled before Administrative Department,” he said.Tariq said despite getting all these conditions fulfilled the Administrative Department is still delaying approval for creation of posts due to unknown reasons. Some workers who spoke to GNS on condition of anonymity accused some top officials in Administrative department of creating hurdles in their approval of posts.Meanwhile, Mir Tariq Pampori said if Government doesn’t approve their posts and act against those officials who are creating hurdles then an agitation would be started. “We appeal Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene in the matter and clear our cases. If the government doesn’t show any seriousness then we will start an agitation,” he warned.(GNS)
