Govt won’t compromise on protection of wildlife, ecology: Chaudhary Lal Singh

Minister for Forests, Environment and Ecology, Chaudhary Lal Singh today directed officials that there shouldn’t be any compromise on the protection of wildlife, environment and ecology across the State.“When we can’t compromise on quality of our life, why should we be insensitive toward wildlife, our environment and ecology,” Singh told officials during a tour to Khonmoh and Khrew areas of Srinagar outskirts.The minister directed officials to launch a campaign against encroachers who destroying the forest land. “We won’t allow anyone to encroach into the forest land,” Singh said. He said that protecting Hangul and its habitation was highest priority for the government.The Minister was accompanied by Director State Pollution Control Board, Chief Wildlife Warden Kashmir, officials of Forest, Wildlife and Forest Protection Departments.Singh directed officials to start a process of land demarcation and directed them to come down heavily on encroachers and stop the wildlife from getting compromised.
