The death toll due to heat wave in Telangana rose to 300 this season, One guerrilla killed, two held by army near LoC

 (21:36) Jammu, May 16 (IANS) A militant was killed while two others were apprehended near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Monday in a search by the army after reports of an infiltration bid, defence officials said."One militant was killed while other two were apprehended by personnel of the counter-insurgency Rashtriya Rifles (RR) in Sabjia Mandi area of Poonch district near the LoC today (Monday)," defence sources told IANS.Noting there was information about the infiltration of militants in Sabjia Mandi area, a source said that on basis of this information, a search was launched in the area and militants spotted hiding in a dry watercourse.

"Seeing the army, they tried to flee from there, but were chased by alert troops and two were captured. While the third one was trying to escape, he fell down from a height and died," said the source, adding that there was no bullet injury on his body which confirms death due to falling."The dead militant has been identified as Bilal Khan while the names of the two apprehended militants are are being ascertained," the source added.officials said on Monday.According to disaster management department, 15 more deaths were reported from various parts of the state during last two days, taking the toll to 300.Nalgonda district bore the brunt with maximum heat wave deaths (90) followed by Mahabubnagar (44).

Meanwhile, the met office said there was marked fall in maximum temperatures at one or two places in the state.According to Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, the maximum temperatures at one or two places were appreciably below average.Ramagundam was the hottest place in the state with mercury soaring to 44 degrees Celsius.The met office has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers at isolated places over next four days (till May 20).It also issued a warning that thunderstorm accompanied with squall is very likely to occur at isolated places.
