Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore promotes India at Cannes

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore on Friday unveiled the India Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival here and promoted the country as a filming destination.“Opening of India Pavilion at Cannes Film Festival, France. Promoting India as a filming Destination and film tourism -- our key focus,” the minister tweeted along with images from the opening ceremony of the Pavilion.Just last year, the ministry of information and broadcasting announced plans of a Film Facilitation Office to remove all obstacles and hassles while obtaining permission for filming and attracting more international filmmakers -- and thus be a step towards making India a global filming destination.The Cannes Film Festival, in its 69th edition this year, is among the world's most popular film extravaganzas to be held annually. It attracts some of the top filmmakers and film-related talent from across the globe. From India, actors like Mallika Sherawat, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor are seen on the red carpet.This year, the gala will end on May 22.
